Fathers Day Cupcakes- Maple and Bacon?!

Dear old dad. Does he get the shaft when it comes to party decoration? Possibly. In our house, the only "decoration" my husband needs is a game on the big screen TV and he is pretty happy. However, with Father's Day coming, I wanted to find some sweet Fatherly inspiration that wouldn't be too hard and would make Dad feel a little more special than just turning on the TV.

In researching one of my favorite party sites, The Party Dress, I found some inspiration images for a Communion. However, I think these are perfect for Father's Day and for all the little men in your life. I love the tie/bowtie cupcakes. That is an easy edition to add to simple box or even store bought cupcakes and it makes them look really cute and perfect for a Father's Day celebration!

I also love
it was for a birthday but with a little
lettering-change-up would be perfect for a grand Father's Day entry!

This same savvy mom has a free printable to make these VERY cute tie cupcakes. Have yall heard of this bacon maple cupcake craze? I am very curious if anyone has tried these because I am a HUGE cupcake fan but just can't imagine eating cake that taste like breakfast. But, I am willing to try anything slathered in icing.

Visit this blog to see the other photos, banner and get the cupcake details and Free Printable, too!

So, these seem pretty easy, right? Just as easy as flipping on the TV?

Let me know if you try any of these and how they turn out!

And of course, if you need a card for Dear Old Dad, visit my Etsy shop or website!

My favorite father's day picture...

Isn't it the truth that Moms are never in pictures? I am not sure about your family, but this is the case in mine. If you look at old pictures of our vacations, my mom is no where to be found. Why? Because she is behind the camera, of course! And now that I am grown, this is the case in my family, too! In my family, moms are the documented.
It is not necessarily a bad thing. Anytime we are having a moment, I run to get my camera. This might mean I am not in the photos, but it also means that I capture some sweet moments  between father and son.
Last Father's Day while I was looking through my photos to make a card, I realized I could make a whole book of the pictures I had taken of my two favorite boys. So I made a college!
I love some many of these sweet photos, and one of them is one of my very favorite photos. When my son was 18 months, I couldn't find my husband. I heard some noise coming from my son's room, and when I went in there and looked in the crib, this is what I found.

My husband wanted to be close to my son so he crawled in the crib with him! It wasn't an easy feat- those cribs are really HIGH off the ground!
It was such a sweet moment, so of course, I ran to get my camera!

I hope everyone is able to capture some sweet moments today- whether you are married to a dad or have a dad or want to be a dad- Happy Father's Day!

"A Grand Slam Father's Day!"

GRAND SLAM FATHER'S DAY!
Here is a great way to knock this year's Father's Day celebration out of the park! It is all about making the Dad in your life feel like he is a "major league" winner!
The inspiration behind a "Grand Slam Father's Day" comes from a wedding post. YOU must visit Amorolgy and see this classy yet AMAZING wedding!

Start out with sending a personal invitation to the special Dads on your list (as well as other guests). Baseball Tickets make a great invitation template.

Set the scene with LOTS of baseballs. Baseballs run about $1.89 each at Walmart. Before Father's Day, have the kiddos sign a special ball for Dear Ol'Dad.

If you are celebrating a grandfather, have all of the grandchildren write special messages on a wooden bat. (This idea came from my cousin's wedding-
a super special way to say thank you)

Keep the colors simple- Red and White or Red, White and Blue.

Baseball candies are a special treat!
THiNK BALL PARK when planning your menu and treats. HOOOTT DAWGS are a must, peanuts, popcorn, nachos, and Big League Chew Gum add a fun touch to this theme.

Set up a photo station for all of the kiddos to have pictures taken with Dad or Grand-dad.

Walmart is currently carrying these sports drinks. Fill metal buckets with ice and baseball
sports drinks for guests. Old fashion CocaCola bottles make a great refreshing treat as well.

This Lil'Slugger Birthday party comes from Swanky Tables. Using a large cubed clear case filled with baseballs makes a great cake stand.
Here are a few other inspirations from http://www.swankytablesblog.com/

Once lunch is cleared...PLAY BALL- have a family filled game of Baseball! Be sure to think of the little sluggers in the family and have tee-stand at hand.

Cheers (for Dad),
