Birth Announcements

I was going through some photos on my phone and came across some birth announcement designs I had been working on before we moved.

Oh, the things that go out the window when the moving truck rolls up...

Good thing I caught a quick photo before they were packed and forgotten!

See proof here...

Fundraising Design for a Private School

I had the pleasure of working on some designs for an auction fundraiser for a private school . It was a blast to be able to work on several pieces with the same theme throughout.
The only specifications given were that the colors were black, white and orange with a little green. Other than that, I was able to do whatever I wanted- which is ALWAYS fun!
I thought chandeliers would be a really cute way to showcase the black and white with font accents of orange and green. I think that color combination is really funky and fun!

This is the invitation for the Fundraising Dinner....

They wanted to offer a t-shirt to sell at the event, so this is the design options I gave them. Which would you choose?

Custom Graduation Cards

This was a great idea for a senior that wanted to let his friends and family know of his upcoming plans. He wrote a little note, which I printed on the inside of the card. Then they SCANNED his signature and voila- a printed signature without getting cramps signing all the notes individually!

The front of the card is on the top of this image, which is a classic monogram with a smart black border.
This card would also be really cute with a photo or collage of photos from the year.

Here's an assortment of other graduation ideas!

Vintage Easter Note cards

I came across some really beautiful vintage Easter images, and since I am a sucker for all things vintage, I had to make them into note cards! These would be perfect to send to friends or write a little spring note on!

My favorite one is the He is Risen Cross. Its such a beautiful expression that I don't think about enough!

Happy Spring to you!

If you want to make a girl nervous...

Come Together Cards Wedding Shower Invitation on Minted.com
.....then ask her to sign up for a contest to compete against some of the most talented designers in the nation.
Gulp.

Minted is an UH-MAZ-ING invitation site that I have admired for a long time, and it is made up of invitations designed and sold from folks like little ole' you and me. They have contests and sell the winners on their site....and....eeek....I submitted some designs.
Its an honor just to be nominated.
Okay, well, that didn't really fit there, but what I mean is that I am glad to just be a part...I don't have high expectations for my first national contest. I am not trying to talk myself down, or anything. Um, have I mentioned that I tend to ramble when I am nervous? I'm....so....nervous......
ahhhhhhhhhh.

The theme was Wedding and Baby Showers, so I designed each.

All that to say, if you would be SO kind as to vote a "5" for my designs, then I would love you forever.

75 year old birthday invitation

This party was described as being for a amazing woman who loves to read, scrapbook, and loves her cat. She is turning 75 and they really wanted to do it up right and celebrate their precious friend! The client contacted me, explained her hobbies, and gave me a photo so I could get the beautiful red hair just right.

I think when you have made it to 75 years of life, you can pretty much do whatever the heck you want. People just smile and say, "she is so cute", even if its something that is a little bit crazy.

That sounds good for me.

How cool that this young woman has such precious friends.

Owls, pumpkins and autumn birthdays...

Autumn is a great time to celebrate birthdays!
The air is crisp and clean and there are great colors to be inspired by!

This is a new Autumn/Halloween birthday invitation.
It was done for a 1st birthday, but any age could use this great combination of pumpkins, owls and leaves.

It is shown in a girly version and one that is better for a boy...

Zebra Print Doctor

If the quality of your doctor is based on the creativity of their stationery, sign me up to visit this one!
The office manager contacted me for a set of new letterhead, gift certificates, and matching address stickers.

I love how completely unconventional this is for a doctor office. My kind of doctor!

Grown up Surprise Party....

I think we can all agree--men are hard to shop for. So, in the same way, its can be difficult to design a birthday invitation that doesn't A) look like his wife picked it out based on her interest or B) have golf clubs on it.
This client hosted a surprise party for her husband's BIG 60th birthday, and wanted red and black. She thought it would be cute to make a photo the "0" in 60 so this is what we came up with...

His wife also wrote an adorable little poem for the inside of the invitation,
so this layout covers the entire open face of the inside.

I hope he had a great birthday and that it was a great surprise!

Logo design for photography business

Jodie is a photographer that I randomly met in a restaurant one weekend. She was photographing an author and we hit it off. Its been several year since that chance meetings, so I was honored when she contacted me and needed some new graphic design for her photography business. She was looking for something chic and girly, (which, of course, is right up my alley!).

She was using these flyers to handout at a Wedding Photography Fair, and I hope these designs helped her catch some bride’s eye!
I like that we were able to use a couple of samples of her photography, an illustration, and her logo and name all on the flyer.  It has a great amount of information to give brides a good idea of her look.

This is the corresponding business card with the modified logo...

Sending out orders..

Wouldn't ya know that right when I returned home from my vacation, I caught strep! I am a strep machine- if someone in 100 yard radius has it, I do too! Its so strange.

So, finally, after watching girl movies I am well and pumping out new orders.
Here are some recent ones!

These were an order for a two girls going to college. They are done in their college colors and have their hobbies incorporated in the cards. For instance, Jenna plays sports, so she has a basketball and baseball beside her and a HSU shirt on. Jordan is a softball and track junkie, so she is holding a softball with one of those track batons in the other hand.

Its so fun to make it personal!

Andrea is a client who just got engaged. That was really fun for me to hear b/c I did some graduation invitations for her and now she is getting married. How special I am walking through all her life stages with her! I wonder if she will call me for when she has a baby and needs announcements. HA! I am going to be worse that a mother-in-law looking over she shoulder and asking, "So, when are you going to have that baby, already?".

She ordered 50 personalized bride thank you notes to use for all her showers! The nice part is that she won't have to think about buying thank you notes for all her showers- only writing them!  :)

These notepads were super fun to do as a gift for a missionary that is going to Japan. A friend bought these for her and she is going to use the notepads to write people on. How cool is that?! I personalized them with her name and "Missionary to Japan", and her favorite bible verse.

I took this photo to show how I wrapped them up for her and send them to her. Her friend bought them for her, so I wanted the friend to know how cute they look when she opened them! It always feels good to know that your gift was beautifully wrapped!
So, that's what I have been up to. Right now I am working on a photo surprise party invitation (which I don't want to share until after the party so I don't ruin the surprise!), a baseball baby announcement, and some business cards. I will show more soon!
Can you believe its already AUGUST?!

Note cards for Quads

I just sent this note card set to a mom of QUADS. That is super fun!
I wanted them to look the same, obviously, but have a little different personalities in the drawing, as I am sure they do in real life!

I did that by making their clothes coordinate but not match, putting different sports balls on their shirts, and then personalizing their shirts with their names.

I hope she loves it!

Monkeying around and turning one!

When Jessica told me she was planning her son's first birthday party, I couldn't believe it! It seemed like just yesterday that I designed the birth announcement for little Chason! But, I know it to be true- time flies!
She chose Monkey's with blue and yellow accent, so I made this invitation for the sweet little one year old.

I bet the party was crazy with all those little one year old monkeys running around! :)

Custom Graduation Cards

Right now, I find myself working on graduation cards. This was a great idea for a senior that wanted to let his friends and family know of his upcoming plans. There are so many great ways to dress up the blah graduation thank you notes! Hopefully there will be lots more to come!
