Bowling Birthday party: Best of the Web

The great thing about the bowling party is there is no mess to clean up. Bowling alley= leave the stress when you leave. But just because you are having a party the bowling alley doesn’t mean that you can’t add some original ideas and decorations to make it extra special! And if the bowling alley you choose is gross, then decorations can cover up the stains and make it like new :)


This cute inspiration board is a take on vintage bowling. This was planned for a guy's birthday party, not so much a kid, but I still think it has some great ideas for decorations and props! Just stop when you get to the big mug of beer. But maybe that is root beer :)

Now this party was planned for a child and has all the details a kid would love- treats, trophies, and cake!

Of course you know what a bowling alley looks like. Well, don't you? I am just saying I am not really sure why I included a photo of the pins other than it looks fun.

Another great reason to have a bowling party is because you can use really cute bowling wording. For instance, instead of an RSVP  you can put, "Hope you can spare the time!". And of course, you can incorporate having a "ball" in there somewhere.

It would be really cute to do little bowling shirts for the kids....

When I searched I found  a ton of places you can buy matching bowling shirts online.  I am thinking of something retro kind of like this.....

However, Family Fun  has a free printable  you can use if you want to personalize a t-shirt!

All the girls received their personalized bowling t-shirt. Each girl had her initial on the front and a bowling ball with 3 rhinestone for the holes on the back of the t-shirts. The ball and the initial were made with black glitter felt.

They all looked so cute!

Each girl had her own Bowling nicknames. We choose an adjective that starts with the letter as their first name, than for the "middle name" a favorite animal or pet.

My daughter's bowling nickname was: Crazy Nibbles.

She had her favorite cake: Oreo ice cream cake

We made silly award pins like Best Victory Dance, Most Strikes, Most Spares, Best Bowling Face, Most Competive Player(my husband won this one!) and best Warm Up. Once we arrived back home after bowling, each girl received her "award"!

Roller Skating Birthday Party

Ahh, the roller skating party. This takes me back to the days of middle school. I was always really impressed with the kids that could skate well, especially the ones that could do the crossover thing when they turned a corner and crossed their skates over each other. Are you this person? Then I am pretty sure you were the envy of the skating party.

Skating parties have come a long way since my 6th grade skating party. It was a future theme and I wore a silver shirt that looked like Reynolds tin-foil and a perm. The perm was not part of the future theme, by the way. It was very much a part of my past.

ROCK STAR BIRTHDAY PARTY

Does your child want to party like a rock star? Mine does, and I don’t think he even knows what that means. Which is good, I guess! :)

Here are great ideas for the Rock Star guy or girl to pull off a birthday party that a rockstar like Steven Tyler would appreciate!

This rock star party was actually planned as a Valentine party, but no matter what the occasion, it has some adorable ideas. This party is another example of one I had a hard time narrowing down the photos to feature because it had so many cute details. Including matching party theme tattoos! Check them out here. They include all the sources for the items so it’s a great resource for a Rockstar party.

What a cute idea- a matching sign made for the Backstage Entrance. You could take that idea and run with it- creative VIP backstage passes and press stickers, etc

The “Love Rocks’ makes a huge statement and could just as well say “Birthday boy or girl Rocks” or “Birthdays Rock” or “You rock”

These drinks are so stinking fun I am not sure what to do. I love the heart twisty straw, but love that they put a DONUT on top of the soda bottle. That is all kinds of fun waiting to be had. And they are such cute donuts, if I do say so myself. I also really like the bright colors- the pink and orange is a nice combo. (Since it is a Valentine party, did you notice the drinks are Orange Crush? Cuteness.) At your party, you could serve “Rockstar” energy drinks, but only if you were very brave, had a death wish, or hated the parents of your kid’s friends and wanted to punish them.  

On the other hand, you could make faux Rockstar cans and put them over juice and probably have more parent friends left and still have a cute idea.

The pink, red and heart theme have a great rockstar look and the theme is consistently carried out throughout the party.

I like the tablecloth here- it is music note fabric and a really cute addition to the bright table.

These favors are little boxes with a sticker with the same logo and guitar. Very cute.

Love these cookies. So super cool.

The rock stars in action. This looks so fun, so you know it was a blast in person. It would be fun to play Rockband or some other music game. Just not musical chairs. That game makes me so nervous!

Diva Birthday Party: Best of the Web

The Diva Birthday Party has lots of variations. It could be a princess party, a zebra party, a pink party, a spa party, a makeover party…and we haven’t even scratched the surface of ideas! Basically, a diva incorporates all kinds of theme, so there are many directions you can take and make your own. We will look at a couple of ideas in this post- there are so many cute ones that we can't feature them all!

Lets start the inspiration with the Diva/Princess party of them all.

They are calling it a princess party, but because of the animal print I think it fits with what more people would call a Diva party. But then again, what do I know? I am just a girl writing this post, so we will go with my ideas.

If you have seen enough animal print to make you vomit, well, then, I have done my job. Um, I guess? Maybe its just that I have seen enough animal print that I can see it when I close my eyes. Either that or the zebra print tattoo I have on the back of my eyelids.
