Black Friday = Christmas Season!

I get sooo inspired by Christmas decor. There are so many beautiful, creative ideas that people think up and make the house so special!

I will be sharing some of my favorites every Friday until Christmas!

Santa Display

If you have a collection of holiday decorations, try displaying similar objects together, like the Santa toys shown here. The wreath was made by hot-gluing a quirky selection of decorations to a base
Unique Advent Calendar
Here, an Advent calendar made from flash cards, paper clips, and ribbons is strung in a sunny window. Homespun ornaments dangle from the cards, serving as a daily treat during the countdown to Christmas Day

Festive Shelves

Measure shelves and mark the length on a 3 1/2" W to 4 1/2" W piece of heavyweight cream-colored paper. Turn a dessert plate or saucer upside down onto the edge of the paper and trace it halfway around. With a ruler, draw a triangle next to the circle. Alternate the saucer and triangle patterns across length of paper, leaving a 1/2" W margin at the top so your two shapes connect. Cut out patterns, then attach to shelf edges with double-sided tape

Banquet

We had an event the Pregnancy Resource Center that I helped plan. 'The best part of the night was when the staff got in the photo booth! It was so fun!!

I designed the program as a look back on the 10 years that the Center had been open. Here is the letter from the Director....

The middle of the program was a photo timeline and fun things that were going on in the year 2000.

The back of the program were bits of information and details.

Here's a close up of the middle page...

Dallas Shows- Photo Review

Whoo! Its been a wild and fun last few weeks! The Christmas Card rush has started!
I did two shows in Dallas the past 2 weeks, Chi-Omega Christmas and Neath the Wreath.
It was busy and fun and full of great shopping!

Here are a couple pictures from my booth...

These are framed prints of one of the most popular cards, Who I am in Christ.

The booth from afar..

One of the highlights of Chi-Omega Christmas Market was meeting Dallas celebrity DJ, Kellie Raspberry and her daughter, Emma Kelly! She is on the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning Show, which is actually nationwide now.  It was so fun to talk to her!

Also, has anyone heard of Nigella Lawson, the cook from Britain? She was there too!

It was a great time and I loved all the new friends I made from people who stopped by the  booth!

Christmas Card Spotlight

If Santa’s suit morphed into a Christmas photo card, this would be the results. Your greeting is emblazoned beside his belt buckle, and your photo goes on his red velvet top. Any photo will seem festive on this crimson and cream colored card.

Wedding Christmas Card

This card looks great with one or two photos. The vintage ornaments are accented against vintage candy cane stripes and a stripe of crimson ric rac. The photos are framed with vintage photo frames that provide a realistic bend just like a placed photo would.

I am draw to a vintage look in design. I know, that sounds odd since I also love whimsy, but somehow, at least for my taste, it works together!
This card was made with those things in mind, and it has turned out to be one of my favorites.
This off-white and coffee Christmas card is topped with thin stripes and a white filigree banner. "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" completes this vintage look in oh-so-cool typography.

This card makes me extremely happy, though it is not because of my designing abilities (or lack thereof!). Its because this baby is just like a real life doll! I love how she is looking right at the camera!
This vintage looking card is on a antiqued red back found. The black filigree frame provides a place for your sweet family photo (which I am sure is just as adorable as this one!). "Joy the World” is spelled out with vintage type and additional filigrees.

Each card measures 5x7 and is printed with a vintage flair on aged ecru card stock.

This varied card provides options for 2 photos and a vintage Santa. The card allows a horizontal and vertical photo, and still has plenty of room for the vintage pattern designs and family greeting. The vintage Santa is holding a wreath which can even be personalized with your family’s last initial. Red, off white and black provide this vintage-looking card realism. here...

For a child is born to us, a son is given to us.
The government will rest on his shoulders.
And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

This beautiful verse is a perfect statement of faith during the holiday season. This vintage gold and black card states the verse at the heart of Christmas.
There is also room for an additional family greeting, if desired.

Another great Christmas photo card for a beach photo or tropical vacation photo! Instead of the traditional Christmas tree, this bright card has a Palm Tree to complement that “beachy” look.

Achocolate brown background makes the Christmas palm tree stand out
and rainbow of colors sets off the tropical vibe!

Heading to the voting booth...

I am super busy getting ready for the sale I am doing this weekend, but not too busy to make my vote count. I am SO happy to live in an incredible country that allows all its citizens to vote for who runs our country. We might not always agree with who we elect, but at least our vote counts!

Creative Thanksgiving Party Planning

Happy November 1st!! Can you Believe its already November?!?!?! I CAN'T-- NEXT MONTH IS CHRISTMAS!! AHHHH!!
I love to celebrate the first of the month, so here are some beautiful autumn party planning ideas for that Thanksgiving dinner or fall party!

I love these Thanksgiving Ideas for setting a beautiful table!

Here's some creative ideas for the "kids table" at your thanksgiving feast...
  • Giving Tree: Have the kids write down what they're thankful for this year on stamped tags, then tie to the branches of fall foliage.
  • Sweet Treats: Thanksgiving-themed chocolate turkeys and lollipops make winning favors for tots.
  • Fun for All: fill gift bags with rubber stamps and pads, then lay parchment paper on the table so the kids can play.
  • Alfresco Dining: Place a rug beneath the table to create the illusion of an outdoor room.
