Fall Wedding Invitations

It was so fun to work on this wedding invitation. The bride saw a picture on theKnot.com of something she might want, but wanted me to make it custom to her.

I sent her a proof with 2 options, one a little more whimsical and one more traditional. She chose the traditional.

We used her wedding colors of creme and chocolate brown to constrast the RSVP and reception cards.

We also added chocolate-lined envelopes for a beautiful finished product!

I wish her a VERY happy wedding day, yesterday!

My design has turned to CAKE

Remember this post about the Punk Rock and Pearls event?

Well, it has taken place, and here is the SUPER COOL cake that was made from the card I created. I am officially a happy woman. My design has been immortalized on a cake and devoured by middle school girls and moms. I mean, give me a ticket to sit in the audience at Saturday Night Live, and my Bucket List is complete.

The best part? The "Pearls" are Chocolate Cake Truffles dipped in white chocolate and pearlized! WOW.

Yum. I love cute cakes {SO} much. I should just do a post showing you all the cutest cakes. Maybe soon. I am just astounded that something so cute can also taste SO good :).

Behind the scenes at Good Morning Texas!

Wow! This week has been a whirlwind! I got the call, well...really, email that I had been chosen to be on the "Mompreneur" segment on Good Morning Texas. First I was estatic, then I was really nervous!
I spend the time since getting my products ready for television. The only hint they gave me was the "more visual, the better" so I enlarged my designs and mounted them on foam board.
I will take you through my exciting morning!


At the entrance of the WFAA Channel 8 studios in Victory Park, downtown Dallas. Its surrounded by glass so you can see the newscasts as they happen!


Its sinking in that I will be on TV in just a few minutes...AHHHHH!!


Countdown is on...the show starts at 9:00!



Ready to air....

The segment starts. She asks me NONE of the questions I had prepared, and takes the interview a different way completely. This is totally okay, as I am totally professional. I only freak out on the inside. Right?

Wow. I don't think I have ever seen my name that big! I am glad its spelled right. Although, I really wouldn't care if it wasn't!

This is on the GIANT screen outside of Victory Park.

This one makes me laugh because whatever I am talking about must be really serious. Look at the intense card face.

And finally, the interview is over! It FLEW by! I pose for a photo with Paige. And she placed an order for Christmas cards! What a compliment!

My friend, Joanne, stood outside the glass window and brought a poster. You know, channeling the Today Show. The camera guy asked if she was a stalker! I just said she was my only friend and cheering section! They asked her to be on camera but she said she didn't want to "steal my spotlight". She probably thought they would ask her to co-anchor next time..she does have that star quality. :)

Non-profit design, with a western flair

I designed this for the non-profit I work for a couple of days a week...

We wanted a creative way to tell people the results of the event we had, so I designed this card. Pam Tebow, Tim Tebow's mom (Florida Gators Quarterback if you are not up on your football) was our speaker. That is her in the photo!

We had the event at a Western Barn, so I tried to stay with that in color and type.

Creative baby bedding calls for creative invitation

When my friend picked out this baby bedding from Amentity Home, we knew a typical baby shower invitation just wouldn't do.

Here is the matching invitation.... she was so excited! The only strange part was eating the Deer head on the matching cake :)

Beach Christmas Cards

A lot of people take their Christmas Family picture at the Beach. And why not- its beautiful, everyone is together, and you have time to get it right! So, I wanted to design a card that would incorporate the teal blue of the water and still look festive enough to be a Christmas Card.

This card is accented with, "Warmest Christmas Wishes". Get it? Warm? At the beach? :)

Another variation of the beach theme is a tropical one. Its quite similar to the beach, just depending on what kind of picture the family takes. So, for this one, I made a twist on a traditional Christmas tree and made it a Christmas PALM tree. The rainbow ribbon and groovy font make it perfect for those tropical cards!
