The Reason I *LOVE* Halloween

Here are some of the reasons I love Halloween. I think kids in costumes are some of the cutest things going!
This is my son's class at church. It might look cute and peaceful, but I can't describe how hard it was to get this picture- all facing front and not moving. It is a class of 2 year olds. Enough said.

My little Mickey Mouse on the playground. Yes, he is wearing flip flops with his costume. Lest you think I am crazy, it was hot that day. Well, go ahead, you can think I am crazy...I sorta am! :)

My 2 favorite boys!

And this one is just cute. He was watching football with his daddy and wanted to wear a hat just like dad.

Tomorrow is Halloween.....and....

I can barely wait to post my pictures! But alas, I must, because it would wrong to post Halloween pictures the day BEFORE Halloween.
But, on the other hand, they are so cute, that they would surely carry over until the next day.
Okay, I am waiting, but come back to the blog and see my favorite costume this year!

Oh, and I LOVE kids in costumes, so if you have one you want to show off, email me a picture and your child/friend/relative can be part of the cuteness!

Hittin' double digits

Wahoo!
The Come Together Cards Blog just had our TEN THOUSANDTH VISITOR!!
Sure, there are other blogs with more, but I am proud of this humble blog! Thanks, everyone, for boosting my self-esteem!
I think I will celebrate with an Oreo. (I went to the grocery store this morning, which is another noteworthy accomplishment, in itself!)
Happy Monday, everyone!

This weekend in the life of the Cute Card Queen

I had a show this weekend at an elementary school in Dallas. I never quite know what to make of shows...I can never decide on which cards to bring and how to condense my whole line in a booth that is 6 feet wide.

This weekend was a show called Hyer Elementary, (put on by the preschool association in University Park) and although I wasn't sure what to expect, I had a great time! The weather was beautiful and I was surrounded by adorable products everywhere! I got to talk to a lot of the other vendors there, and made some friends! And you can't beat new friends!

So, thanks everyone that came to the show. It was a ball.

My mom and husband were a HUGE help too! I can't do that kind of stuff without them, so thanks to them.

Its so interesting to watch and see what is going to sell best at each show. Its seems like it is different every time. This show, the custom notepads were a hit. I had numerous orders from ladies ordering them for their "Ya-Ya" groups, Sewing clubs, and "Lunch Bunch". These are really fun to design b/c I can make them so personal!

Beautiful new baby starring on a card

Its easy to be creative when you have such beautiful inspiration! Doesn't she steal the show? What a DOLL-- little Addyson.

This is a precious new little one that was born in my bible study. Not literally IN my bible study...it would have been a little hard to focus! I mean, to a family I know from bible study!

There is definitely something in the water-- so many of my friends are pregnant. They look so beautiful with their growing bellies, but they all think they are fat. Such as life, huh!?
This is really a Christmas Card, although it doubles as a birth annoucement.
Its called Pink Diva. :)
I love using unconventional colors for Christmas cards, like pink and teal and brown! In fact, I have very few "normal" cards! There are too many of those out there already!

Things that I like this week

Here are some things that make me happy this week.

Great cakes.

Look at the picture below.

I can't decide if I want to grill it or use a cake server. That's right, folks, its a cake. How funny is that?

My friend makes them and made this one for a missions dinner- isn't it fantastic? She has only been doing it a year and a half and went to a class b/c she was interested in doing cakes! Chalk one up for the "its never too late to learn" lesson!

I love this blog design- I think its really cute!
Finally, Sarah Beth, got married-- I did her rehearsal dinner invites. This is one of the decorations from the weekend. I love this and want to have a fall event just to have a pumpkin-flower!

Is there anything you are liking this week?

The Great Pumpkin

We took our son to the Pumpkin Patch this past weekend. He thought the little pumpkins were basketballs and liked the throw them in the baskets. Oops. Sorry, Pumpkin Owners! We bought some pumpkins to appease our guilt! (And because we couldn't pry these 2 out of his hands!)

My favorite NEW card.

I am hard at work on my NEW website, which, I might have mentioned, is not really the direction my brain likes to think.

But, it is a blessing, but it is allowing me to post a lot of new designs that I haven't posted yet.

I have a couple of favorites, so I will share some and allow some to be a suprise when the site is up. I am big on not ruining surprises. My husband can't keep a secret, which is why I can always get what he got me for Christmas out of him before Christmas comes!

Here is one of the Wedding Greeting Cards that I am diggin' to match the invitation above.

Great birthday present!

A daughter wanted to give her mom a creative present for her birthday, so she sent me a picture of all the grand kids and their hobbies, and this is what we came up with! I think it is a fun present and a creative gift for someone that has everything! The grand kids go from Max in college to Daniel who is 3. I hope she loves it!

Yummy dessert

I am such a sucker for dessert. I have a major sweet tooth!

We had a smores dessert at a fancy restaurant so I wanted to recreate it at home. We had friends over so I tried it on them. It is always chancey to try a new dish that you haven't made before, but you can hardly mess this up!
It is Rocky Road ice cream with graham crackers, marshmallow creme, mini-marshmallows and chocolate sprinkles. I got the really cute waffle bowls at Wal-mart Neighborhood market- they were a hit!
