The office, day 4

I love the empowerment of Rosie the Riveter, so I found a place online to change it to pink and add Come Together Cards!! I bought the frame half price at Hobby Lobby to frame it!

My new office

Its been a long time coming, but my new office is finally up and finished!! I am revealing it..one day at a time!!

What's your one thing?

Yikes, so long since my last post!! Sorry, friends!! My son has been exerting a lot of activity this week. He is starting to run around and threw his first official "MINE" tantrum today over sharing a crayon with his dad. Fun times. Ha ha, really, they are fun- just a little crazy!!

I was thinking today how much I love paper. I guess that might be obvious, since it is the nature of this blog and my business. I know this about myself, but was reminded the other day while garage sailing in my neighborhood. One of my neighbors was a greeting card rep for Papyrus and had all sorts of adorable cards, wrapping paper, journals, and the like. I was in heaven! I mean, I MAKE greeting cards for a living... I don't need more filling up my closets. But I could not resist. I walked out with a handful of adorable stuff I will likely never use. :)

It got me thinking how everyone has something they cannot resist. It might be something they have dozens of, but if the price and design is right, they cannot walk past? It could be shoes, desserts, purses, accessories, or something completely different. (I think those are some other things I love!) So, this memorial day weekend, what is your one thing you cannot get enough of??? Or, more than one thing?

New find

Isn't this cute!? I found it at The Great Indoors. They had lots of different ones, all around gardening, but I liked this one, b/c I try to grow as a person on a daily basis!!

Cards at Celebrity

Celebrity is a local cafe and bakery here in Rockwall. It has my favorite strawberry cake (which I like to get for my birthday!). I was in there the other day with my camera, so I took a picture of my cards in there!!

New crafting

I am in the process of redoing my office. I moved it to a spare bedroom in the back of the house, which is more functional and able to stay messy!! :) I had a window pane I wasn't using, so I decided to use it as a frame for a college. I bought some scrapbooking paper at Hobby Lobby, and made a random college of it in various places.
I added embellishments, pictures, and cards, and hung it up with the window!! Here is the finished product!!

This makes me laugh

My friend and fellow blogger, Cupcake Farms, makes the cutest and yummiest looking cupcakes. She says she wishes she were more creative, "butt" these cookies are as creative as you can get!!
Here is her method for the PG-13 panty cookies, which are perfect for a girls night out or lingerie party!
Just make or buy your favorite sugar cookie dough. Roll it out and cut out using a heart cookie cutter. Trim off the pointy end of the hearts and you get the desired shape. Make sure you do this before you bake them. Then whip up some frosting in fun colors and go to town decorating!

Too funny!!

One person's trash is...

another person's treasure! That is my favorite quote to describe garage sales b/c I find it oh-so true! I love finding great deals on what other people don't need!

So, this weekend, we are having a garage sale to raise money for our mission trip to Africa. We started bright and early this morning and have had a great time! Isn't that weird-usually its such a beating! But its nice outside, Joel, Judah and I are together, and we are having fun!!

Our friend Scarlett came by and donated the the cause, and left us a horrible Christmas lit snowglobe, kinda as a joke. She had it in her trunk-since Christmas- and wanted us to sell it. So far, it has gotten SO much interest!! No one has bought it yet, but I know it will go tomorrow. The old lady frau is out and active, and loving the knicknacks! People buy the WEIRDEST things! One man bought a nursing cooler that you keep breast milk in to use for a cooler. Uh, it has "similac" on it-- doesn't that bother you? :) Or the bottles that are labeled "breastmilk"? Oh well, to each his own! :)

Has anyone had a great find they bought at a garage sale?

Food that looks like other food

I am big on food that looks like other things- whether its other food, or faces, or holiday decorations-- I just love to eat food that is creative.

I saw this in Family Fun magazine and thought it was so cute and oh-so-easy! This is probably the only sushi I am going to be eating!!

Pound cake, cut into 1-inch-thick slices
White frosting
Fruit leather (we used FruitaBü Organic Smoooshed Grape Fruit Twirls)
Flaked coconut
An assortment of candies and jellies for sweet toppings and sushi sides

Step 1
Sushi bases: For rolls, use a knife to cut 1 1/2-inch circles from a slice of cake. Frost the tops of the circles, then wrap a 6-inch strip of fruit leather seaweed around each one, using a dab of frosting to secure it. Press coconut rice into the frosting. For individual sushi, cut a cake slice into rectangles and round the edges, as shown. Frost the top and sides of each oval, then roll it in coconut.
Step 2 Sweet toppings:
From left to right, starting with the top row, we used orange nonpareils, apricot preserves, and pieces of Twizzlers Rainbow Twists. In the middle row, we used a green gumdrop slice, diced Swedish Fish, and gumdrop wedges. On the bottom row, we topped the sushi base with a Swedish Fish, then wrapped it with a strip of fruit leather.
Step 3 Sushi sides:
To make wasabi, warm a green Starburst candy in the microwave for 10 seconds, then use your hands to work it into a mound. For pickled ginger, microwave and flatten an orange Starburst candy, then bunch it up into a pile, as shown.

Jodie Westfall took some pictures of Judah, and of course, it inspired me to do some scrapbooking. The pictures turned out so cute!!
