Good news on Hump Day

Well, as I am getting well now and entering back into the swing of life, I was given some great news today. It seems Obi, a citizen of Sierra Leon, has found out who I am and wants to give me some of the $4 million fortune that he is going to inherit. He is coming over to the US and just needs me to help him transfer the money to an account over here. This is so exciting b/c I have always wanted to be a millionaire, and I will be able to quit my day job and just focus on making cute cards for people, getting my nails done, and getting massages. I also plan to have a full-time grape assistant-- a person to fan me and hand feed me grapes. I mean, I will have $4 million, right? The least I can do is have my own grape-feeder.
Thanks, Obi. I don't know what I have done to deserve this, but I am so glad you found me. I would love to transfer your money and we will be best friends forever.

The Randomness...

I caught the STREP bug. I have been out of commission for several days now. And that's the bad thing about being a one woman show...if I am out, all work stops.

So, I have been laying down, watching Sound of Music (arguably the best movie ever!) and eating ice cream for the raging fire in my throat.

I also have been amusing myself with Fred Flare.com. It is the most random things ever, and they make me smile.

This is a "cell-phone holder". Does one really need a cell phone holder? If you do, here is one shaped like a banana. Very convenient.

I found this on a blog from www.twopeasinabucket.com. Isn't it so cool? All the funky colors and bright palettes really inspire me!! Isn't it funny that chandeliers are so in?

Today

Today, it is pouring down rain. Like, monsoon, style. I really love the rain, and luckily, I don't have to leave the house until this evening, so I have enjoyed hearing the rain on the windows and staying in.
I gave my son a bath, and he can not stay in it long enough. I will do anything in that room- clean the counter, organize my jewelry, scrub around the tub...so he can stay in the tub and play. But even after I do everything I can think of and its been a LONG time, he still cries when I get him out. I think that has to do with how much he likes throwing things into the tub. By the time he is done, all the bubble bath, shower gel, shampoo bottles and any other stray bystander is in the tub with him. He takes the cup that I wash his hair with, fills it up with water, and drinks it. How disgusting. But he loves it. I get him to stop but as soon as I turn my head he is drinking up the dirty shampoo water. I guess I can tell myself he is building immunities???

This week's LOST

Wow. What a great one. Okay, so much happened, sometimes it helps to do a recap.

What I am working on...

I am working with a local photographer who has need for some graphic design!! It has been so fun to get to use someone else's medium to design with. She has requested some "Save the Date" magnets for a client that is getting married, and here is how they turned out!!

New design project

For my birthday, I asked for something I have been wanting for a long time. New pillows for my bed. Boring, right? Well, not these!! I saw the idea in a lake house I visited and I knew that they were custom made. When my birthday rolled around, I picked out the fabrics and decided I wanted 2 big pillows on my bed instead of lots of shams and throw pillows.


Here are the fabrics. My bedroom is chocolate brown and blue. As soon as I upload my pictures, I will show you how they turned out!! I am so excited and love the new look!!

I think I solved a LOST mystery!!

I was thinking, "why are they making such a fuss about who is working for Ben on the freighter? Why do we care?" Then the preview for next week said something about us being surprised when it was revealed b/c we haven't seen the person for a long time.

The Chocolate Queen

I just did an order for Lake Pointe Church girl's ministry. The leader is a dear friend of mine, and had the FABULOUS idea to do a "Chocolate Fest" for girls and their mom's. It was held around Valentine's day, they brought chocolate dishes, and a chocolate queen was crowned!! I did the award certificates, which were all pink and chocolate brown, of course!!















Here is the winning dish--YUM--how great does THAT look?!? Below is the Chocolate Queen and her mom. Notice her cookie sceptre, and cookie princess cap!! So creative!! She is holding the Come Together Certificate, as well, which I am sure is the best part of her win!! :)

Great birthday celebration ideas, everyone! Thanks for sharing! I just got back from a college roommate reunion and now I am playing catch up with orders and ideas and such!
